The Commonwealth contracts with UTEC (utecinc.org) as its statewide mattress-recycling vendor; drop-off at UTEC is currently $30 per mattress or box spring, and most MA municipalities (Lowell, Cambridge, Framingham, Haverhill, and others) use UTEC for curbside collection, while typical municipal mattress fees passed on to residents range from $15 to $65 per unit.
